Open-src script or code to Hide or Show desktop icons on Windows?

Thers a previous question asking how to do this: How to hide or show all desktop icons from the command line and the answer given was a closed-src executable called HideDesktopIcons.

My question is whats an open-src way to do accomplish this function on Windows (specifically, Windows 11) – thank-you.
