I made a simple Dolby 5.1 surround demo in both M2TS and MPG formats. Both versions play fine locally, but there are problems when I try to host the videos. When I upload one of the files to YouTube, the volume gets drastically reduced. On the other hand, when I upload one of the files to Rumble, the Front/Rear panning gets messed up. I tried submitting the MPG file to Wikimedia, but the file gets rejected with an opaque non-descriptive validation error.
For all of these reasons, I think I’m better off self-hosting the video file, but I need to get off the royalty based encoding schemes.
Can you all give me FFMpeg commands (or other advice) to convert my M2TS and MPG files into a royalty free WebM with minimal degradation of audio?
