I am trying to use the ‘Camera’ application on Windows 10 that shows my webcam filming me. I am using the built in camera on my laptop.
The green light next to the webcam flashes on and off when the program is running.
In the ‘Camera’ program the words ‘Front-Facing Camera’ flashes on and off as if the camera is struggling to turn on.
Very occasionally I will get a picture videoing me, but only for a fraction of a second.
I have checked ‘Device Manager’ and everything appears ok. I have uninstalled the camera and restarted the computer which appears to have reinstalled it.
I have gone to Settings => Camera and have:
- ‘Camera access for this device is on’
- ‘Allow apps to access your camera’ in on
- The ‘Camera’ app appears in the section ‘Choose which Microsoft Store apps can access your camera’ and it is on.
- ‘Allow Desktop apps to access your camera’ is also on.
What is going on?
I have Panda Antivirus installed, but I cannot see anything in that which might cause problems. It all still goes wrong when I turn Panda Antivirus off.
