In Windows 10 how I disable the search menu from searching local files?

by Rubin|Published September 14, 2025

For example, if I search “png” I don’t want it to list all the png I have locally.

I’ve tried excluding the folders in the Windows Search settings as suggested in

Windows 10: Disable file search in Start Menu search box

and what was suggested from

https://www.ninjaone.com/blog/enable-or-disable-search-indexing/

but it still shows local files in the search menu result.
