I’ve been troubleshooting a strange gaming issue on Windows 11 where certain games show relatively stable FPS numbers, but the gameplay still feels inconsistent with occasional microstutter and uneven frame pacing.
I already tested:
Different GPU driver versions
High performance power mode
Disabling overlays
Background app cleanup
Variable refresh rate settings
Hardware temperatures and usage appear normal, so I’m trying to understand whether this could be related to Windows scheduling, shader compilation, storage latency, or another system-level factor.
The issue seems more noticeable during longer gaming sessions and open-world titles.
Has anyone experienced something similar or found reliable ways to improve overall smoothness beyond simply increasing FPS?
