Every time I try to use OS X Mountain Lion Internet Recovery, I get an error after the first screen of Reinstall OS X. The error box says “An error occurred while preparing the installation. Try running this application again.”. That’s not very specific so I decided to check the logs and they said “Couldn’t find app store version, falling back to hardcoded”. You might be thinking at this point that I just need to set the date and time. You would be wrong. I tried setting it to the latest date and time and it didn’t work. I also tried setting it to January 1st, 2013 and that didn’t work either. This is clearly not a date and time issue and I don’t know what it could be.
