I have a Lenovo laptop that boots normally to the Lenovo logo and Windows sign-in screen, but as soon as I try to log in, the screen goes black and then the power shuts off shortly after. Sometimes I also get an SrtTrail.txt error.
I’ve already tried a lot of troubleshooting:
Booted into Safe Mode (Explorer actually works fine there)
Ran command line repairs like bootrec, chkdsk, sfc /scannow, and DISM
/RestoreHealth
Uninstalled recent updates and restarted
Checked BIOS (hard drive is detected and Windows Boot Manager is first in
boot priority, UEFI mode is enabled)
All disk and system scans report no issues
No system restore points are available
Tried “Reset this PC” with the option to keep my files, but it didn’t work
Physically checked the laptop (battery is fine, no damage, cleaned fans, everything looks normal)
At this point I’m considering reinstalling Windows using a USB drive, but I wanted to ask first in case there’s something I missed.
Has anyone seen this kind of issue before or knows what could be causing it?
