The Thorium browser has some good points, but it can be extremely difficult to change settings. The help button in the browser points to Chrome documentation, but many settings in other Chrome-based browsers do not appear in Thorium settings. Specifically, I want to change the home / startup page, which is now “https://duckduckgo.com/about” . I want to change it to “https://noai.duckduckgo.com/about”. Chrome documentation says to pull down settings and go to “Appearance,”, but there is no such thing in Thorium.
I have tried to ‘brute force’ the change. I have searched through the “AppDataThoriumUser DataDefault” directory, edited the “Preferences” file, and changed every instance of “/duckduck” to /noai.duckduck” in every preferences file I can find and Thorium still starts up in the regular duckduckgo.com page.
Does anyone know how to change the start page in Thorium? It apparently is not in preferences, and I can’t find a start settings file.
I’m using the latest build on Windows 10. I’ve searched for malware and all tests I have come back clean.
