How to remove horizontal padding in VS Code terminal?

I want to remove the left/right padding of terminal in VS Cod (see red arrows above)

Tried disabling gutters, scrollbars, custom CSS, etc… but they don’t actually increase the underlying xterm width.

I use TUI applications often (e.g. OpenCode), and this padding eats up 3-5 character width on fullscreen TUI apps.

If anyone figured out how to remove/reduce the padding, I’d like to know how.
