I tried setting up a dual boot on my HP Omnibook X (Core Ultra 5). While shrinking my C: drive using a third-party partitioning tool to make space, it rebooted to finish the partition.
When it tried to restart it wouldn’t boot into Windows, I just went ahead and installed Linux (Ubuntu) from indtallation media I had ready, and that’s been working completely fine. However, it’s just when I go through to Windows from GRUB that it gets to the HP logo and never finishes loading/boots through to Windows. I can still access all my Windows files through Ubuntu so I know my data is safe.
I’ve already tried using the Advanced Startup options and reset menus, but nothing worked.
Can I just clean-install Windows using a bootable USB, delete the old Windows partition, and reinstall Windows without affecting my Ubuntu partition? (They are on different partitions, and I am fully aware that I will need to reinstall GRUB afterwards).
