I’m trying to set up static IP for my old TP-link to turn it as a repeater for my main router
IP of my main network 192.168.0.1 . In “Lan” settings:
I set up the static IP of a repeater to 192.168.0.2 and reboot the router. Now I can access the admin panel by going to 192.168.0.2 in my repeater’s network. Then I switch off DHCP. Then I connect main router and a repeater by a cable and wanna go on with other settings.
The problems begin when I turn off DHCP and plug in Ethernet cable into a repeater. I can’t connect to repeater’s network. Magic doesn’t happen.
It seems to me that I don’t change dynamic IP address into static in “LAN” settings. It shows that my repeater’s IP is dynamic and it’s 192.168.0.84 . There is no other devices with IP 192.168.0.2 that could lead to conflicts. Even when I configure any IP address in the 192.168.1.* subnet in main network it shows me 192.168.0.84 and it is dynamic.
When i enter 192.168.0.84 from main network I can’t access admin panel settings anyway.
A repeater works as a usual router when I choose dynamic IP and don’t turn off DHCP. So it is definitely able to act as a repeater.
