My Windows box no longer seems to sleep. I’ll come back to it in the morning, and it’s still perky, having run all night. It used to sleep. Not sleeping is a security issue — if I am away from my desk suddenly and forget to manually sleep, I want that thing locked up tight. No need for the cleaners or whoever to have access to the machine.
Tring to track this down I see:
PS C:Windowssystem32> powercfg /requests
DISPLAY:
None.
SYSTEM:
[SERVICE] DeviceHarddiskVolume4WindowsSystem32spoolsv.exe (Spooler)
Print spooler is printing a document.
Then this:
PS C:Windowssystem32> powercfg /energy
Enabling tracing for 60 seconds...

Analysis complete.

But don’t see any print jobs that are stuck. Is there a way to tell Windows to only try so hard to print jobs, that sleep is more important perhaps than a printer that will never come back?
If I stop the print spooler it releases the sleep lock. But starting it up again, and the problem returns.
