I have a field SaveDate in the footer of my Word document.
I know you can auto-update fields in a Word document upon printing (under Options -> Display).
IMO this is a nonsensical function: documents don’t change upon printing, they change upon saving. So, the question is: can you let Word automatically update the SaveDate upon saving?
At this moment it looks like I have to update the field manually, and then save, which seems to deny the function of the field in the first place.
Can fields automatically update without having to print them?
