I am running Debian 11 XFCE, fresh install on an HP Pavilion 14 laptop. My inbuilt wifi and ethernet work great. However, whenever I plug in my AWUS036ACH USB adapter, it is recognized and shows up in NetworkManager Applet twice! The adapter name, available networks, etc. are all identical. If I connect to a network under one instance, it does not show as connected in the other instance, but I can use either one to successfully connect to the internet.
Unplugging the adapter removes both entries from the list of adapters/ connection.
I have tried searching the forums and El Goog, but have not found my solution just yet. I’m open to any suggestions, not necessarily just a direct answer or workaround (I enjoy the hunt… but where to start?)
