Chicago, IL and Charleston, SC (PRWEB) June 06, 2013

During the world’s largest eCommerce event, the 2013 Internet Retailer Conference and Exhibition, Blue Acorn announced that it will soon be releasing a free module that will enable brands and online retailers using Magento, the world’s leading eCommerce platform, to easily and quickly install Optimizely on their sites and benefit from added features, all without any coding. Simply put, the world’s leading and most easy-to-use conversion optimization software just got even easier.

“These two platforms are ideal for one another,” according to Kevin Eichelberger, Founder CEO of Blue Acorn. “Magento is one of the most flexible eCommerce platforms available. Optimizely is designed to help them figure out what they should be doing – from a design and development aspect – to help increase their conversions and ultimately, their revenue. Having a module that can quickly and easily connect these two tools makes perfect sense.”

Currently, Magento customers who want to use Optimizely need to manually add the necessary Optimizely script (line of code) to each of their store’s pages, which is easy for some and intimidating for others. Either way, it’s time consuming, which is an especially important consideration for online retailers who choose to hire a developer to make the necessary changes.

“Our work with Blue Acorn will enable more businesses to deliver optimized web experiences,” said Dan Siroker, CEO of Optimizely. “By allowing Magento users to seamlessly integrate Optimizely with their stores, we are helping them realize top line goals instantly and provide necessary resources to make the targeting and revenue tracking process smooth, from start to finish.”

Once downloaded from the Magento Connect marketplace – a matter of clicks – the module automatically inserts the necessary script for Optimizely into every page of the user’s site. It has been designed to insert the script as high as possible in the header tag, in order to prevent any interference with Google Analytics. Blue Acorn has created a demo video of the installation, which can be found here.

In addition to making Optimizely easier to install, the module also allows Magento users to take advantage of two key features that were previously only achievable through custom development work: revenue tracking and the ability to run advanced targeting tests.

“The built-in revenue tracking is a big deal,” says Eichelberger. “Increasing your conversion rate is great, but your overall goal should always be to increase your revenue. Slashing prices will typically always make your conversion rates go up, but will that make your revenue go up? Having revenue tracking readily available will definitely help users see just how much they are truly benefitting from their tests.”

The module also automatically inserts the necessary code for Optimizely customers to be able to run advanced targeting tests, all the way down to the product-page level, without any custom development work. Users will be able to target specific page types and/or product groups in their tests.

Since it was founded in 2010, Optimizely’s growth has been astounding. It quickly surpassed Adobe TestTarget based on number of users, which – according to BuiltWith – is now 3.5% of the Alexa Top 10,000 Sites. Magento currently has a 26% market share of the Alexa Top 1M sites.
