Hi all,
we are currently looking for developers and that let me down a road of various online certifications for self-paced learning. Now, while I fully support the trend in general (the idea of decentralized online learning and the variety of resources available potentially generates faster, more targeted developers that can benefit the industry), I cannot help but notice more and more candidates having a problem that I haven’t experienced a few years back. It’s not that there are particular things missing when it comes to required knowledge, an issue that can be overcome by targeted training or at least sending them back with stuff to learn. No, there seems to be too much content out there teaching things that are simply wrong. Now while some YouTube channels had that problem ever since, I expect businesses that hand out certifications to vouch for their accuracy.
Am I the only one noticing that trend, or does that sound familiar with you?
BTW: In some cases feedback towards the providers remains unanswered. And commenting also seems to simply be blocked in some cases (feel free to evaluate some content like this https://www.educba.com/django-vs-laravel/ for instance and let me know what you think )
