Editing permissions for specific BASH commands [closed]

I would like to edit the permissions of specific commands which are available through BASH. I’ve tried using chmod to limit permissions on the C++ file in the directory but it didn’t seem to work. I have the specific file in the directory narrowed down, though I don’t know if this will help.
