On my Windows 7 machine, I use FileZilla as my FTP application. When I use it, regardless of the server to which I connect, the download speed is capped at 3MiB/sec. I have checked all (?) FileZilla settings and there are no caps enabled. I asked the FTP server admins and they stated “There’s no limits on the FTP throughput, it’ll transfer data as fast as the network is able to carry it.”. I tested my connection with SpeedTest.net and my download speed is 534 Mbps. What could possibly be causing the FileZilla speed limit?
I just installed WinSCP and tested it and found that’s it’s download was also slow.
