I encrypted one of folders on my exFAT USB Drive without knowing EFS specifics.
Then I reinstalled Windows 11 (same user and password) on it and discovered that I cannot open some files in that encrypted folder.
Simply unchecking Encrypted attribute from files gives unknown error.
Googling lead me to Elcomsoft Advanced EFS Password Recovery app. I guess it could help me if my drive was NTFS formatted.
Using some standard Windows utility which popped up as a reminder to back up my certificates I managed to get .pfx file from the main NTFS drive.
Please suggest next steps to decrypt/open encrypted files. Is there a chance of success?
