I have a Google Wi-Fi mesh setup at home. As far as I can tell, the DHCP pool is managed entirely on the main AP/router (the one connected to the ISP). If the router is rebooted, the DHCP pool appears to reset, but anything connected to other mesh nodes do not see their Wi-Fi or Ethernet links drop, and do not reattempt to reacquire IP addresses.
Sometimes the DHCP server on the router will issue a new device connecting to the network an IP address that is still in use from a DHCP lease granted on a previous power cycle.
Is there any better solution than power cycling the other mesh nodes when the main one goes down?
