I am a Mac user and I want my finder to look the same every time I open up a new window: Details and sorted by date/time, and the same width/height. I find the break in flow of having to resize or resort my finder window to be extremely disruptive when I am working. I know that the Finder window is controlled in each directory by a file called “.DS_Store”. What I am not sure of is how to modify my .DS_Store settings globally so that each time I open a new finder window it is the same while still preserving my ability to adjust the current window size/settings. That is to say, when I open a new finder window I want it to be the same every time but when I make adjustments I don’t want those settings to be saved to my .DS_Store file for next time. Any ideas? For context I am on MacOS Big Sur 11.6.1.
