Four of our users are being affected after windows update on January 29, 2025 by a known issue”Windows 11 22H2 KB5050092 250131_150523 Known Issue Rollback” in Windows 11 Version 22H2 and Windows 11 version 23H2. In one of the updates it is causing our dual (network and usb) connected Kyocera printers to print randomly beginning with header “POST /ipp/print HTTP/1.1”. We are trying to. Run the fix the KIR using this article
But the instructions say to download an MSI file, but these articles have what looks gibberish with blocks of text for the windows 11 group policy fix. Also, when I run a search in regedit for “kb5050092” which is the update that is the problem, you can see the known issue rollback KIR, but the key is marked with a 0 on the “configured” line. Im wondering if just changing this configured line to a 1 will correct the problem or is there a missing msi file. Question 2, can this group policy fix be implemented with just the strange small 152kb file that is downloaded as the fix. If so, how is this small file used to correct the group policy?
