is there anyone that knows how to make small djvu files with colors. I have been wondering this for ages. If you have done any research on this topic you will find alot of djvu files mostly on wikicommons (before 2016) that are indeed very small like 1-10MB. I am wondering how to make them without the usage of web-based services.

You can create them with black and white color schemes, this results in very small sizes. But the problem is that they look ugly on documents that have colors. (cjb2)

So there are another way of creating them and that way is using the tool c44. The problem with c44 is that it result in 20MB files. Witch is a waste of storage. I know that is possibility to create them smaller. But the question is how? How to create them smaller?.
Is there any scripts tools to make the smaller. I Know that there exist a tool called pdf2djvu but the problem is that it also makes big file sizes. Or most of the time even bigger file sizes.
