How to stop an active icloud file transfer (not restart, but permanently stop)

I have clicked copy and paste a directory into icloud that has about 10 different repos with thousands and thousands of files. Now the transfer process is going but its very slow for understandable reasons. I want to stop the process and taring the dirs first and then moving them to speed it up. If I will wait for this to finish it will take weeks, according to my calculations. As you can see in the image below, X button is grayed out and not clickable so I can’t cancel it.

Is there a way to cancel it via command line or something?
