I have a laptop where I’m locked out of the bios and the boot device is fixed to the internal hard drive. I would like to install a new OS on this laptop and was wondering if the following would work:
- Take out the hard drive from the laptop
- Install a boot manager on the HD using a different computer
- re-install the hard drive into the laptop
- boot into the boot manager and select an installation medium (USB or others) to continue booting from
- install the new OS on the HD
Would this work? How would I do step #2 and which software could I use?
