issue installing windows 10 on a new SSD drive

i bought a new samsung sata ssd and have initialized it as a GPT drive, i want to use this drive to boot and run windows 10, but have run into many issues, a lot of which are way over my head.

eventually it resulted in me having to fully reset my PC because windows was not booting on any of drives that it previously did.

what i know is the following:

  • my BIOS mode on my PC, displayed under System Information, is UEFI.

  • my target boot and run drive for windows (the SSD) is a GPT drive, as well is
the drive that is currently running windows.

  • when i previously tried installing windows on my SSD, it said it
could not be installed on a GPT drive, which contradicts the previous
    fact.

  • my BIOS has legacy+UEFI mode, and when i switch it to only UEFI boot
mode, a lot of my boot options disappear, including the SSD drive.

i’ve read some info about changing secure boot and CSM settings, as well as (if i understand correctly) the boot mode you’re using when installing windows 10 to make a difference, although i can’t quite understand what the effects of these two things would be.

i would like to utilize the UEFI mode, since it seems to be the better option, and i believe most things are already set up for this to be possible. it just seems that a few settings need to be tweaked.

i really don’t want to run into the issue of having to fully reset my PC again, lol. any advice is appreciated, but please understand i am not tech savvy and will likely have a few questions
