Children’s online store Wellies and Worms is taking the hassle out of shopping by introducing a series of upgrades to make buying children’s clothing and travel accessories even easier.
The kids outdoor clothing retailer which specialises in childrens raincoats and wellies, as well as summer items such as baby swimwear, has just completed a major upgrade of its Magento Commerce shopping cart system from v1.3.2.3 to v1.6.2.0 to enable it to improve the functionality of the site. The upgrade, which was carried out by Bristol based digital agency C3Media.co.uk, means the retailer will now be able to introduce a series of front and backend improvements to the site.
Chief amongst those is the use of Sage Pay’s new token system which means existing customers will be able to use saved credit and debit card details the next time they order, whilst still maintaining complete data security.
Wellies and Worms owner Graham Cox said: “In business the customer is king and it’s important to make life as smooth and easy for her – or him – as possible when it comes to browsing and purchasing online.”
“After all, one of the reasons the customer has probably come online to begin with is because they don’t have the time to go out to the shops to hunt for clothing or luggage and are looking to make a quick purchase. The last thing they want is to be sitting huddled over a computer for an hour trying to work out how to put a final payment through.”
The company also plans to rapidly increase it’s use of social media throughout the site to increase brand awareness and sales. Graham continues, “the magento upgrade allows us to install some new social media extensions on the site. Besides Facebook and Twitter integrations, Pinterest and Google + are becoming increasingly influential social signals and we plan to use all these to drive sales and help out customers become advocates for the brand.”
“We know how people like to share with friends and family what they’ve been doing or bought, especially when it comes to cute rainwear or swimwear for kids. Now they can do this at the simple click of a button, a far easier route than having to link up to the website.”
The retailer has also installed a Follow Up Email extension which gives customers an opportunity to provide Wellies and Worms with valuable feedback about their order. And via an embedded link it also allows customers to continue shopping where they left off without having to resume their order from the beginning. In addition, this extension means the company can notify a customer when a particular good they’ve been looking for is in stock and available to purchase.
Graham added: “We are completely customer focussed and determined to make shopping at Wellies And Worms as easy and enjoyably an experience as possible. We think these new measures will help with that but we’re always delighted to hear our customer’s feedback (good or bad) and welcome any suggestions they have.”
