I use a catchall Email-Adress (*@example.com) which receives everything at that domain. I can receive and send from this mail using imap/smtp.
When I receive a mail to john.doe@example.com I also want this mail as a sender when replying to that email. Instead the sender is “*@example.com”
Until now I did not find any email client that seems to be capable of doing that (or I did not find the setting).
In Thunderbird I at least have the option to Customize From Address when replying but I want that this works automatically and not manually enter it every time I reply.
I also tried Evolution and Mailspring, both seem not to have any option to modify the From-Adress before sending.
Does any of those Clients be used in the way I want it?
I am using Linux Mint (Gnome)
