Wedding web site Lover.ly has named Nordstrom.com founder Bob Schwartz as its first chairman.

As chairman, Schwartz will work with founder and CEO Kellee Khalil to help shape strategy, partnerships capital and product pipelines, New York-based Lover.ly said.

“As a well-known leader in the worlds of technology and e-commerce, Bob brings to Lover.ly strategic direction, critical counsel, and business development opportunities at a time ripe for scale and growth,” Khalil said in a statement.

Schwartz was previously president of Magento, an open source commerce platform that was sold to eBay in 2011. Magento is used by more than 30 percent of e-commerce sites, according to Lover.ly.

Schwartz said: “With its data-centric technology platform and engaging brand, Lover.ly is tapping into what I see as keys to success in the future of digital commerce and media.”

Schwartz is currently vice chairman of OneHope Inc., a social-impact product platform, and sits on the board of Good360, a nonprofit led by former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina.

Lover.ly, a site that helps couples plan and shop for their weddings, said it has 250,000 products from 2,000 brands such as J.Crew, Kwiat and Nordstrom. The company said its recently launched iPhone app has had 85,000 downloads since April
