This question is already asked here but it didn’t get any suitable answer and it’s already 2 years old.
I did 2 Magento installs, 1 for 2.4.2 and other for 2.4.1 and neither of them asks for styles-m.css, nor styles-l.css, thus I see completely unstyled frontend and unstyled admin pages.
Te problem is not why styles-m.css or styles-l.css are not found or are not deployed to pub/static, because they are deployed there when i run bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy, the problem is they are not requested at all by the generated frontend code. If I add them manually to some specific default_heads_block.xml they get deployed but I want to know why this basic functionality is broken out of the box.
