Just switched from ISP modem/router combo to just ISPs modem as I have a good Wi-Fi router I’ve used with them in the past. It’ll connect, show on the router that internet is being ported through, but when trying to connect via wifi, internet is not available. I’ve had this issue in the past, and a tech came out to fix it with the combo initially. He said the agents can easily do this, essentially just needing to port in the modem.
I contacted an agent and they said everything is fine and no, the modem is already in the system (duh) but porting in isn’t a thing. The tech basically took the numbers and went to his van last time to call the modem in, so there has to be some sort of process to connecting it on their end. I’m unsure if there’s specific words or terms I need to use, or if I just got an agent that doesn’t care.
I use Astound Broadband with 1gig cable internet. The modem is some sort of Hitron brand. Internet line seems to be fine overall.
