Mousepad makes mouse pointer snap to top of screen

I have recently replaced my old Mousepad with an Aukey KM-P7; if I plug it in before my PC boots up (Windows 10), my mouse pointer is essentially stuck to the top of the screen. It can still be moved sideways without any effort, but any attempt at moving it down immediately snaps it back.

This issue does not persist if I connect my mousepad after my PC has already started up, however it returns after it goes into standby mode. If I remove it afterwards, the issue persists, so a restart is necessary. For obvious reasons, this is somewhat of a hassle, and I assume that my PC detects the mousepad as a mouse with only one fixed coordinate, so whenever I move my “actual” mouse, it tries to readjust and snaps it back to where it thinks the mousepad is pointing.

Is there any way I can stop this behavior? As far as I’m aware, there’s no drivers for the mousepad to fix the issue, and I have not found any similar problems occuring with this mousepad on the internet.
