MuleSoft Announces Mule ESB Cloud Connector for Magento

MuleSoft, provider of integration platform for the cloud, web and enterprise, announced the release of a Mule Cloud Connector for Magento. This allows users to integrate the cloud-based Magento service with their other applications using Mule ESB, which is a lightweight, powerful open source enterprise service bus (ESB) and integration platform for developers to easily connect applications together on-premise and in the cloud.

Mule ESB is a lightweight Java-based enterprise service bus (ESB) and integration platform that allows developers to connect applications together quickly and easily, enabling them to exchange data. Mule ESB takes the complexity out of integration, enabling developers to easily build high-performance, multi-protocol interactions between heterogeneous systems and services.

The advantage of an ESB is that it allows different applications to communicate with each other by acting as a transit system for carrying data between applications within enterprise or across the Internet. Mule ESB includes powerful capabilities that include, service creation and hosting, service mediation, message routing, and data transformation.

Magento  has been recently acquired by EBay, and is an eCommerce platform with over 225 solution providers, 100,000 merchants and brands worldwide. It is a feature-rich, professional Open Source (NewsAlert) eCommerce platform solution. Mule’s Magento connector exposes Magento APIs for order tracking, customer management, stock management, invoicing, product management, categorization and more.

“Mule Cloud Connectors make it dead-simple to integrate with the most popular SaaS (News Alert) and cloud services using Mule,” commented Mateo Almenta Reca, Director of Product Management at MuleSoft.

“Because Magento is one of the most widely used eCommerce platforms and is relied upon by many of our customers, it was a ‘no-brainer’ to host a Magento connector on the MuleForge. With this level of connectivity, both on-premise and in the cloud, Mule continues to distinguish itself as the number one integration platform for modern applications,” Reca adds.

The Magento connector is one of the many connectors hosted on the MuleForge developer center. MuleForge is the developer center for hosting extensions to Mule ESB. MuleForge provides a place for the Mule community to develop and share reusable Mule extensions like connectors, add-ons, tools, integration patterns and examples.
