MYDIGIPASS.COM available on Magento e-commerce platform

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. and ZURICH, June 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — VASCO Data Security International, Inc. (Nasdaq: VDSI) (www.vasco.com), a leading software security company specializing in strong authentication products and services, announces today that Magento (http://www.magentocommerce.com/company/) has incorporated MYDIGIPASS.COM in its platform enabling web developers to embed secure login access for their web shops.

The Magento e-commerce platform serves more than 110,000 merchants worldwide and is supported by a global ecosystem of solution partners and third-party developers.

Magento now enables web developers to add strong user authentication to their Magento web shops, in a cost-efficient and convenient way by incorporating MYDIGIPASS.COM in its open source platform. Web developers that deploy the MYDIGIPASS.COM secure login button on their Magento web shop, provide their end-users with secure access to their online accounts and allow them to manage their online profiles via the MYDIGIPASS.COM authentication portal. Users’ attributes like name, address, email, age, etc. can be automatically synchronized from the MYDIGIPASS.COM platform towards the Magento customer’s web shop.  Upon each authentication the user attributes are synchronized, ensuring that your user database is always up to date.

Additionally, Magento’s e-commerce platform users are able to tap into a community of millions of DIGIPASS users out there. By becoming part of the MYDIGIPASS.COM application eco-system, they will gain extra visibility, making it easier to attract new users to their web shop.

To use MYDIGIPASS.COM with a Magento web shop, the web developer needs to download and install the plugin and request the MYDIGIPASS.COM connect button on developer.mydigipass.com. The plugin contains the necessary OAUTH libraries, flows and attributes to match the integration of MYDIGIPASS.COM towards a standard Magento website.

“We are very pleased that Magento has incorporated MYDIGIPASS.COM into their open Source platform,” says Jan Valcke, President and COO of VASCO Data Security. “Magento enables its users to add strong authentication to their web shops guaranteeing a secure login process and greatly enhancing security and user convenience. This way, Magento shares the same vision that VASCO has: bringing strong authentication within everyone’s reach.”
