newbie here
I have a case of network in network, so kind of like subnetting(?) If i am not wrong. Sorry still learning on the terms.
Anyway so the ISP modem and my router have different networks that doesn’t allow me to access my WD cloud drive home directly. I want to access it directly on both networks since i had configured it to become my media server which automatically syncs all my work projects. i have tried to find the setting for bridging the soyealink router to the ISP modem but there is none. But still it can give internet access through connecting it via WAN port from the ISP modem and it becomes a network which can be accessed via LAN cables and WLAN.
I’m still trying to configure it and I want it so that the networks become one interlinked network where all my devices can see each other within this network especially my wd cloud home drive ,tv, workstation, and other devices.
My current network configuration is kind of like this :
ISP Fiber Optic Cable —-> Huawei EG8145V5 (Modem from ISP)
Which connects to :
- TP-Link Unmanaged Switch
- one Lan cable used for maintenance which usually connects to my Laptop when configuring.
And the managed switch connects to :
- Soyealink B628-350 (acting as an AP)
- TCL Smart TV
- WD Cloud Home Drive (Media Server)
- Workstation
My soyealink B628-360 connects to :
-Wireless AP to Smart home plugs, light bulbs, extension cords
- Wireless AP to several devices like phones, tablets, and gaming consoles
-Wireless AP to 1 maintenance laptop
The problem here mainly is the WD Cloud Drive home if being plugged into the huawei EG8145V5 ISP Modem, it wouldn’t shows to devices connected to my soyealink B628-350 router and vice versa of being switched.
Also I have already make the WD drive home cloud to be a static IP as well as the soyealink router
So for instance:
Huawei EG8145V5 ISP Modem IP 192.168.15.1
Soyealink B628-350 Router IP 192.168.5.1
WD Cloud Drive Home IP 192.168.15.101
