UK web hosting provider Nexcess announced on Monday it will be expanding to offer services in Brisbane, Australia later this month.
Nexcess provides services that range from shared web hosting to enterprise-grade server clusters for high-demand enterprise applications.
The hosting provider has grown rapidly over the past decade, acquiring two wholly owned data centers in the US and a UK-based web hosting operation.
“This is a huge expansion for us,” said Chris Wells, president and CEO of Nexcess. “We decided to base ourselves in Australia because it’s a booming market full of innovation, and there is huge potential to bring more purpose built hosting solutions to the region at lower latencies.”
Nexcess provides e-commerce hosting, with a focus in Magento, ExpressionEngine and WordPress hosting.
The company’s upcoming expansion into the Australian market will bring with its full range of managed hosting options.
Australia continues to be a high-growth market for hosting. Last week, cloud hosting provider OzHosting announced it will resell Google Apps for Business in Australia and New Zealand, while UK cloud hosting provider Elastichosts recently opened a data center in Sydney.
All services delivered from Nexcess’ new Brisbane data center include diverse fiber connectivity to other major Australian cities, New Zealand, and the growing tech economies of Southeast Asia.
Cooling and power systems at Nexcess Brisbane are fully meshed and N+1 redundant for maximum uptime, with modern UPS and more than 1,000 liters of diesel fuel kept on-site for generator power in the unlikely event of a major power crisis.
