I am putting together a dashboard in PowerBI. The idea is that I can select a company from a slicer (data column header is “Company Name”), and that selected company name is visible, but all others in the column show as say “Company A”, “Company B”, “Company C”, etc.
That way I can show the dashboard to “Wayne Enterprises” and their data, but the other companies’ data is anonymized.
The below is a drastic oversimplification of the columns I have, so I’m hoping there’s a way to apply this broadly without needing the very specific info of each visual/table I’m trying to show.
Company Name District Values
Wayne Enterprises California 4841
Wayne Enterprises California 9280
Wayne Enterprises California 1284
Wayne Enterprises Maine 5076
Joker's Jungle Gyms California 8655
Joker's Jungle Gyms Maine 8941
Joker's Jungle Gyms Maine 5277
Two-Face's Tortilleria Michigan 7116
Two-Face's Tortilleria Michigan 5591
Two-Face's Tortilleria California 1463
Two-Face's Tortilleria Montana 2921
Two-Face's Tortilleria Montana 66626
In PowerBI if I choose a company, the others are hidden. I want to keep those visible, just anonymized their names:
PS: “Slicer” may be wrong, as I want to keep the other data and not remove. Perhaps a Filter is the way to go? In any case the overall idea is to be able to CHOOSE a company name, and all others from that column become anonymized.
