I have an Ubuntu Server Jellyfin VM running on Proxmox, with 1GB of minimum memory and 3.5GB of maximum memory. However, the VM only seems to see around ~550MB.
According to proxmox balloon info:
balloon: actual=1024 max_mem=3584 total_mem=526 free_mem=86 mem_swapped_in=205017088 mem_swapped_out=476983296 major_page_faults=41280 minor_page_faults=659005 last_update=1790501670
And inside the ubuntu server VM:
server@jellyfin:~$ free -h
total used free shared buff/cache available
Mem: 526Mi 392Mi 106Mi 26Mi 253Mi 134Mi
Swap: 4.0Gi 303Mi 3.7Gi
The heavy swapping is leading to significant lag/loading times. The host has enough memory, the VM has been allocated enough memory, it just fails to see it.
VM config inside of Proxmox:
root@proxmox-node01:~# qm config 100

Solutions that I have attempted:
– Changing the allocated memory
– Disabling ballooning
– Restarting the VM
– Shutting down all other VMs/LXCs on the host.
How do I fix this issue?
