Reimaging the LCMD AI Pod

I’m not fond of the default OS of the LCMD AI Pod.

I’m wondering if I can install a new OS while retaining the device’s AI properties.

Will I be able run AI tasks in Linux?

These are the features of the default environment.

I see some information on Google:

You can re-image the LCMD AI Pod by placing its internal NVIDIA Jetson
AGX Orin development board into recovery mode and flashing a new
operating system from a host computer via the USB Type-C port.

Because the AI Pod is built on standard Nvidia Jetson AGX Orin
hardware (which includes 64 GB of eMMC storage for the OS and an
optional NVMe drive), you can replace the factory Ubuntu installation
with another compatible ARM-based Linux environment.

Step-by-Step Reimaging Process

Prepare the physical connections: Plug a monitor into the HDMI port,
connect a keyboard and mouse to the USB-A ports, and link the AI Pod’s
USB Type-C port to your host PC.

Enter hardware recovery mode: Power on the AI Pod while engaging its
physical recovery/mode buttons so the host PC detects it as an NVIDIA
recovery device.

Use the flashing tools: On your host computer, use the official NVIDIA
SDK Manager or command-line JetPack flash scripts to push a fresh
system image to the internal storage.

Reboot and configure: Once the flashing script finishes, reboot the AI
Pod and complete the initial Ubuntu or custom OS setup directly on
your attached monitor.
