I don’t really want to lay everything out in the first question and be directed to a different site, so I will just give an overview of what I am trying to find out. I am doing a project for one of my college finals and it pertains to setting up a network for a fictional company that purchased four failing bank branches and that will also have a headquarters in a different location. I was just wondering if this is a place where I could ask questions regarding this or would there be another place that would be better suited?
To clarify, I am not looking for someone to give me answers but the project instructions are vague and, since we are supposed to to use our own judgement, I have many questions that I would like to get some clarification on. For example, being that it is a bank, what is the best types of servers to use, what are the most common devices used and how many is a good number for redundancy, and what are best practices for data backup. Also,the HQ is handling all data communication, what exactly does that entail.
For those wondering why I don’t ask my instructor, he has alluded to the fact that he won’t be answering questions for this and we should use our team, the internet, and any other resource we can find. The problem with asking my team is that is I am the only networking student on the team and the others dont know how to even start a network diagram, much less creating one. I’m not sure what other resources I can use, which is why I am asking here. Any help would be greatly appreciated or, if possible, a point in the right direction of where I could ask these types of questions.
I know this may sound a bit vague, but I have never used a resource like this and I am not entirely sure how to start or if this is even the right place
