I have a NanoBeam 5AC point to point (bridge) dish connected to a Cisco Catalyst 1200-8P-E-2G Smart Switch. The switch is able to power on the dish over PoE, but the MAC address will not show up on GE1 when I run the command show mac address-table interface ge1 as the command returns blank like so:
The dish is accessible from the upstream connection, but does not pass traffic. Running the command show int status displays the port as up and negotiated speed, but there is still no MAC listed or being seen by the switch.
I have tried different cables, as well as a new know good working switch. I tried a PoE injector as well with no resolution. I have used new dishes that work fine.
I was looking for what may be the root cause of this issue and what tools are available for determining what exactly was causing this problem.
