I’m experiencing horrible network performance with VMware Fusion 11.5.1 with a Linux host (elementary OS 5.1, so essentially Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS).
It seems to just be the network connection that is slow, all other aspects are pretty snappy.

pinging a host just sits there
avojak@avojak-eos:~$ ping google.com PING google.com(den16s02-in-x0e.1e100.net (2607:f8b0:400f:805::200e)) 56 data bytes

traceroute -I google.com
completes very quickly, which I wouldn’t have expected given everything else that I’m seeing…
I’m using a bridged network adapter as recommended:
I’ve also disabled TSO and GSO, but that didn’t seem to have any effect either. (The is the method used to disable it permanently: https://askubuntu.com/a/1175335)
At this point I can’t seem to find anything else to try – any suggestions?
