What are some natural next career steps for a PHP developer?

Today I turned down an offer for 6-8k more than I make now. It just wasn’t worth switching jobs for that amount, especially since I’ve been at my current position for under two years.

My recruiter said I’m already in the top 10% of PHP devs in my Midwest city in terms of compensation. This leaves me wondering… Where do I go from here?

Of course there’s the management path. I’m not sure how I feel about that one. Is it just time to change to a different tech stack?

I have a CS degree and don’t really see myself as just a PHP dev, despite having done mainly that since college. I’m confident I could pick up just about any language without too much difficulty.

It feels like it’s waaaay too early in my career to be hitting this ceiling.
