What does the “Talk While Muted” setting do in EPOS Connect?

I am using the EPOS Connect desktop app to configure my Impact 1060T headphones. The settings menu has an option labeled “Talk While Muted” that can be toggled on or off without any description of what it does. I would guess it has something to do with being muted while on a call, but I can’t think of what the option would do.
