This sounds simple enough, but I can’t find much information about why, in Excel, you can copy-paste from one selection into multiple selections, but you can’t cut-paste into multiple selections. I can’t actually find online a good explanation of why this is the case. The AI-generated summary wasn’t very satisfactory either – it said basically that cutting removes the data from the original location, making it unavailable for pasting more than once. However, it seems it would be easy enough for the cut-paste operation to simply duplicate the copy-paste, deleting the original cut item as the final step. Is there a reason that that idea doesn’t work?
