Why is it that changing MAC to get a new IP address gives me a new IP address but no sites ever load?

I’ve changed my MAC address on my router after 7 years of having the same IP address. The new IP shows up in the DD-WRT control panel. But when I go to visit any web page, any website, they don’t load. For the last 2 hours, I’ve been changing the MAC, rebooting the router, unplugging it, etc.

I called up Trakia Cable to ask them if they have a dynamic, and apparently, I should have a dynamic. I also asked them if they do MAC locks, and they said no.

  • Router: TL-WR841N V12 using DD-WRT latest build for the device.
  • ISP: Trakia Cable
  • I own the router.

I’m so annoyed by having the same IP for about 7 years or more.
My neighbour’s Wi-Fi also has had the same IP for the last 6 years, but I am not sure which brand that is.

So, how to fix this?
