I have a table with 24 columns and excel insists on sorting the first 12 and last 12 columns separately. It will expand to that range only, and if I manually select the entire range then the sort and filter buttons gray out, except for the advanced filter button. (It took me a while to figure out why my data was getting corrupted.) Any ideas?
It isn’t the bar in the middle. That is just page break view. Troubleshooting step: selecting a single column also grays out the sort button, if it is one of the first 12 columns. At some point, some of these were named cells but all of the names were deleted in Name Manager. Two items won’t delete, but they look like references to whole worksheets.
I tried copying the first column to another sheet and some other columns from the right half of the split. On the new sheet, the first column sorts separately from the other columns.
