Upgraded Processor on a Lenovo T420 MESS

I got this T420 from a friend that barly used it and I decided to upgrade the processor from an i5 to an i7 also the ram. Ever since the upgrade that I accomplished myself the battery no longer charges with the OS running and the OS doesn’t recognize AC power attached. I purchased a new battery. The problem I have deducted from all of this that it’s the EC chip. Windows recognizes the i7 and all the memory installed but the EC chip is not allowing or communicating that the battery and the AC is both connected. I haven’t been able to flash to the new bios because of the EC chip. Even tho the AC is connected the bios utility is not seeing it.
My last attempt at finding an .ini file to avoid power checks have failed. So I guess I’m going to have to re-install the less power hungry i5 just to get my bios updated. Even the bootable USB does a battery and AC check and fails.
