Similar question to this other Super User post from a few years back. In short, my PC ran into some issues recently and when I finally got it all resolved, it ended up installing a whole bunch of new drivers, including Bluetooth. After doing so, my Bose QC Ultra Headphones ceased being able to connect in stereo / headphones mode – they now only connect as a hands-free mic device.
Other forums mainly suggest disabling hands-free mode, which theoretically forces the headphones to connect in standard audio mode, but not in my case – all this does is remove sound completely. It’s as if there is no standard audio connection at all.
Some other solutions involve changing or updating the Bluetooth drivers in Device Manager, but I never have the same drivers listed as in the suggested solutions, so I’m finding myself stuck.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
