iSCSI backstores: is pscsi better performance than block for SAS drives

I am setting up an iSCSI target on a debian server to share raw SAS drives to another computer, but know nothing about iSCSI.

I was wondering if create a backstore with pscsi for the drives would be higher throughput than using block.
